“Did a great job, felt like I knew the shop guys all my life. Bunch of good guys who seemed very knowledgeable.”
Heavy-duty diesel repair in Duncan, SC
Five minutes. Exit 63 and you are at our bay. For the carriers and distribution fleets based along 101, we are closer to your yard than most of your drivers live from it, and that changes what a shop can realistically do for you.
Duncan is where fleets live, not just where they pass through
That is the thing that makes this market different from the other three. Greer is distribution. Spartanburg is terminals. Greenville is final mile. Duncan is full of manufacturing distribution centers, automotive, furniture distribution, and a heavy concentration of transportation providers and fleets that are actually headquartered here.
A fleet based five minutes from a shop should not be running reactive maintenance. It should be running a schedule, and it should be able to hold that schedule without anybody chasing it. Ten to fifty unit fleets get the most out of that, because that is the size where one truck down is a real percentage of the day and there is no spare depth to absorb it.
SC-101 is the lane
101 is the corridor here, and it is a heavy truck stop route. Where truck stops are, breakdowns are, and a lot of what goes down on 101 belongs to somebody passing through rather than somebody based here.
The failures are the same ones we see everywhere in the Upstate. A DOT stop that turns into an out of service order. Power or electrical failure on the unit. Tires. Common cause items, which is the frustrating part, because most of them were findable before they became a road call.
The equipment mix is broad: straight trucks and tractors, day cabs and sleepers, some vocational.
Distribution work puts wear in specific places
The furniture and automotive distribution fleets running out of Duncan do not wear equipment the way a linehaul tractor does. They run shorter cycles with more stops, more dock time, and a lot more work off the back of the truck.
That shows up in predictable places. Lift gates take the abuse first, because they are the part of the truck that actually does the labor. Brakes see more cycles per mile than the odometer suggests. Electrical takes more door slams, more idle, and more accessory load than a truck that runs three hundred miles and parks.
None of that is exotic and none of it is expensive to stay ahead of. It is expensive to ignore, because a lift gate that quits at a dock is not a repair, it is a delivery that did not happen and a customer who now knows about it.
Five minutes changes the math
Both paths cover Duncan, and at this distance the choice is genuinely about the job rather than about logistics.
On your yard
On-call mobile brings preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, brakes, tires and on-site repair to your yard so the unit stays where it earns. On call also means a real technician answers, not a dispatch queue. You will know who is coming and when before you hang up.

In our bay
When the work needs a lift, a teardown or deeper diagnostics, the shop is up 85 and back before most of a shift is gone. And when a unit cannot make even that drive, we arrange the tow and bill it as part of the repair. One call, one invoice.
Shop service ›There are other shops here. Here is the difference.
Duncan has repair options, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we compete on is not proximity, because several of us are close.
It is whether the work comes back, and whether the number moves between the quote and the invoice. We are faster and fairer than the dealer and more capable than the cheap shop, and that is the lane we run in. If you have been burned by either end of that, you already know which part matters to you.

“Turbo blew on 85. They took care of getting me towed to their shop. The next day, they jumped on my 379 pete and swapped my turbo and air to air. Charged my ac and was on my way.”Benjamin Deason · Google review, Greer
“Was on the road and ran into an issue. Looked this place up and they were right down the road. Got in and out quick and back on the road.”
“Called ACME for my driver who was on the side of I-85 in Greer. The line was busy, so I moved on and called another company. The gentleman with ACME not only called me back.”
Duncan questions, answered
We are based in Duncan. Should we be using mobile or the shop?
Both, and the split is usually predictable. Scheduled maintenance, inspections, brakes and tires happen at your yard so the unit never leaves. Diagnostics, teardown and anything needing a lift comes to the bay, which at five minutes is barely an interruption. We will help you set the line once and then you are not deciding it every time.
Can you hold a maintenance schedule for our whole fleet?
Yes, and at this distance it is the obvious move. We build the interval around how your units actually run rather than a generic chart, then we hold it so you are not tracking it. Fewer surprise repairs is the whole point.
A truck went down on 101 and it is not ours. Do you still take it?
We do. A lot of what breaks on 101 belongs to an operator passing through with no shop here. Same process either way: we diagnose it, we call you with the number and what we found, and you approve it before we work. If it cannot be driven in, we arrange the tow and bill it with the repair.
Do you work on anything smaller than a Class 8 tractor?
If it is diesel, yes. Straight trucks, vocational units, service trucks, three- quarter and one-ton pickups. Same diagnostics, same quote before we start. If it is gas, we are not your shop, and we will tell you that on the phone rather than after you drive over.
