“Did a great job, felt like I knew the shop guys all my life. Bunch of good guys who seemed very knowledgeable.”
Heavy-duty diesel repair in Greer, SC
Our shop is on Shortie Street. Greer is not a service area to us, it is where we work. When a unit goes down here we are not driving in from another county and fitting you around a route that started somewhere else. And we already know the two places Greer trucks tend to quit, because those are the calls we take.
Where Greer trucks actually quit
Two places, over and over.
The first is the 85 corridor. That is no surprise to anybody who runs it. The second one is the part nobody puts on a website: the freight side of the airport. Units working air freight and freight forwarding out of GSP go down on that side of town regularly, and a lot of them belong to operators who are not from here and have no shop to call.
What actually puts them out of service is rarely exotic. A DOT stop that turns into an out of service order. A power or electrical failure on the unit. A tire. Common cause failures drive most of the road calls we run, which is another way of saying most of them were findable a week earlier.
Distribution runs this town
Greer is a distribution town before it is anything else. Automotive distribution is the heaviest piece of it, and around that sits manufacturing distribution, retail distribution, and construction. The industrial park footprint here is extensive and it keeps growing.
The equipment mix follows. Straight trucks and tractors both, day cabs and sleepers both, plus vocational units working construction and service. A shop that only knows over the road tractors would miss half of what rolls through Greer on a given week.
Ten minutes to any yard in Greer
We run past the airport and up into downtown Greer and the Wade Hampton corridor heading north. Highway 14 gets us across the rest of it. Ten minutes, most of the time.
On your yard
Both paths cover Greer, and being this close changes which one makes sense. On-call mobile brings preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, brakes, tires and on-site repair to your yard so the unit never leaves. On call also means a real technician answers, not a dispatch queue. You will know who is coming and when before you hang up.
Mobile and fleet service ›Greer, S.C.
In our bay
When the job wants a lift or a teardown, the shop is minutes away rather than a logistics problem. And if the unit cannot make it under its own power, we arrange the tow and bill it as part of the repair. One call, one invoice.
Shop service ›What being local actually buys you
Standing schedules. A fleet ten minutes from the bay can run preventive maintenance on a real cadence instead of whenever somebody remembers. Units come in on a schedule you set, they go back out, and the surprise repairs get thinner every quarter. That is the entire argument for PM, and proximity is what makes it stick.
It also means we know the yards. Where the gate is, where a service truck can actually park, which lots you cannot get a lift into. Small things that turn a two hour job into a four hour one when a shop is guessing.
The industrial park problem nobody mentions
Greer's industrial park footprint has grown faster than the service around it. Plenty of those parks have no diesel service inside them at all, which is fine right up until a unit will not start in a lot at four in the afternoon and the gate closes at five.
That is the situation on-call mobile exists for. We come to the lot, we diagnose it there, and you get the number before anything happens. If it turns out to be shop work, we arrange the tow and bill it as part of the repair rather than handing you two vendors and a phone.
The construction and vocational side has the same shape. Equipment does not break down at a convenient address, and the yard it is sitting in usually was not built with a service bay in mind.

“Turbo blew on 85. They took care of getting me towed to their shop. The next day, they jumped on my 379 pete and swapped my turbo and air to air. Charged my ac and was on my way.”Benjamin Deason · Google review, Greer
“Was on the road and ran into an issue. Looked this place up and they were right down the road. Got in and out quick and back on the road.”
“Called ACME for my driver who was on the side of I-85 in Greer. The line was busy, so I moved on and called another company. The gentleman with ACME not only called me back.”
Greer questions, answered
Is it faster to bring it to you or have you come out?
Depends on the job, not the distance. Preventive maintenance, inspections, brakes, tires and most on-site repair are better done at your yard, because the unit never leaves. Anything wanting a lift, a teardown or deeper diagnostics belongs in the bay. Call and describe it and we will tell you which one you actually need.
We are an out of town operator working the airport freight side. Can you help?
Yes, and it happens often. Units working air freight out of GSP break down here and the operator has no local shop. We take those calls, we quote before we start, and if it cannot be driven in we arrange the tow and bill it with the repair.
Do you work on anything smaller than a Class 8 tractor?
If it is diesel, yes. Service trucks, three-quarter and one-ton pickups, and vocational units all come through. Same diagnostics, same approach, same quote before we start. If it is gas, we are not your shop, and we will tell you that on the phone rather than after you drive over.
Can you set up a maintenance schedule for our fleet?
That is most of what we do for local fleets. We build the interval around how the units actually run, not a generic chart, then hold the schedule so you are not tracking it. Ten to fifty unit fleets get the most out of it because that is the size where one truck down really hurts.
